The Royals SG...

Situated in the heart of East Coast Road, The Royals SG is an unpretentious and halal-certified café that serves a range of Western-Asian dishes at a very reasonable price. Unlike most cafés, this place offers local popular dishes such as Mee Siam (their signature) and Nasi Lemak. On top of that, they also have a small bakery in the café where you can find breads, cakes and pastries. It’s definitely a relaxing place for a good tea break as well!

Joining in the recent ‘Nasi Lemak’ craze, The Royals SG has also came out with their rendition of Nasi Lemak Burger which impressed many of us, particularly their in-house sambal which was super ‘shiok’! This café is seriously underrated, and to be honest, I think I’ll bring my overseas friends here for a meal! It isn't too fancy but I bet they will not be disappointed!

The bright and colourful spread we had at The Royals SG! In frame, Signature Nyonya Mee Siam, (New) Nasi Lemak Burger, Beef Shepherd’s Pie, Sweet Potato Fries, Baked Salmon Zoodle Salad and Mushroom Zoodles with Volcano Egg. My favourites were the Mee Siam and Nasi Lemak Burger!

Sweet Potato Fries // $7.90
Never ever once able to resist the charms from a well-marinated and well-fried Sweet Potato Fries! The rendition at The Royals SG was well-executed because the fries were fragrant, addictive and not too oily! Definitely healthier since you don’t see large lumps of oil left after finishing the fries. Highly recommended!

Baked Salmon Zoodle Salad // $9.90
Another light, refreshing and healthier option at The Royals SG! Salmon was well-baked with a melty meat texture and it definitely paired well with the refreshing zucchini. If you belong to the health-conscious crowd, this is the dish for you!

Beef Sheperd's Pie // $8.90
Thank god the portion was just nice! The melted cheese balanced the marinated beef stew pretty well. It was surprisingly not too heavy! Beef was tender and juicy as well!

Mushroom Zoodles with Volcano Egg // $12.90
If you are on a strict diet like me, this mushroom and zucchini dish is for you! Again, this was light and refreshing.

Beef Brisket & Cheese Sandwich // $11.90
Not a huge fan of sandwich but I gotta admit the beef brisket was well-prepared and very juicy. Flavour was good too. If you are looking for a quick brunch fix, this is the one to go for!

Baked Norwegian Salmon // $15.90
The salmon was well-cooked with a very good melty texture and definitely paired well with the in-house mash and corns. The sautéed lady’s finger however caught my attention because of its flavour and texture. Have it while it's hot!

Braised Lamb Shank // $18.90
The lamb shank has no game shell, was tender and portion was huge. It also had a subtle rosemary aroma which makes the lamb more pleasurable!

Signature Nyonya Mee Siam // $6.90
This bowl of flavourful mee siam is so good that I was going to recommend it to my overseas friends. It wasn’t very spicy, and the noodles were really refreshing. What sets this apart from other mee siam in Singapore was the home-made sambal chilli which was extremely addictive! Everyone was singing praises of it!

(NEW) Nasi Lemak Burger // $11.90
So many rendition of Nasi Lemak Burger that I’ve tried, this Nasi Lemak Burger at The Royals SG was definitely one of the top. Rice was well-cooked, with a strong coconut aroma. Chicken was crispy and tender. Sambal Chilli was still the bomb! A must-try!

Red Velvet Cake
This was one of my favourite cakes at The Royals SG! Fresh, soft and moist! Good for afternoon tea break!

Rainbow Unicorn Cake // $10
You know I have always been very sceptical about Rainbow Unicorn Cake after trying so many of them and most of them failed so miserably. I can safely say that The Royals’ rendition was not too bad! At least, it was pretty, not overly sweet and not jelat!
