Brother Bird...

The same mind behind Honeycomb, KC and Bird returns with a more mature and interesting concept – Brother Bird. Despite facing several setbacks from their first start-up which led to the eventual closure of Honeycomb, both owners did not succumb to failure but chose to continue pursuing their culinary dream by restudying the market trend and improving their gastronomic skills. Located within Bali Lane, or above Stateland Café, Brother Bird offers a range of weird but delicious-looking softserve served with either rice donuts or flavoured mochi donut balls at affordable prices. Recently, they added another two more creations to their dessert collection - Cookie Butter Softserve with Raspberry and Rose Flavour Bursts & Pumpkin Pie Softserve with Matcha and White Chocolate Bursts.

In order to provide more variety to its consumers, Brother Bird is constantly creating and introducing new flavours to the public. For every three months, you can expect to see new flavours from Brother Bird again.

Cookie Butter Softserve with Raspberry and Rose Flavour Bursts // $15
If you have been to Brother Bird before, you might have already know that the Cookie Butter Softserve has been the primary flavour of Brother Bird since their opening. The fact that it has remained in the menu even up till today already speaks much of the popularity of this softserve. This Cookie Butter Softserve has always been my all-time favourite and the reason why I always visit Brother Bird to satisfy my cravings for ice cream. The Cookie Butter Softserve is not very jelat but addictive. Trust me, you can't stop once you start.
On the other hand, the Raspberry Bursts are not too sweet and they are very chewy. There is no tinge of jelatness because the Cookie Butter Softserve maintains the jelatness. Overall, this is really a good combination.

Besides being delicious, it is also asethetically alluring! Very Instagram-worthy!

Pumpkin Pie Softserve with Matcha and White Chocolate Bursts // $15
The Pumpkin Pie Softserve was probably too exotic for me. I'm not trying to say that it is not nice, but perhaps I am just not used to the taste. The pumpkin flavour was not very strong but very subtle. The owner also mentioned that they are using pumpkins from Japan because even though they are more expensive, they are much sweeter than the ones in Singapore so as to attain a better quality softserve at the end. The Matcha Bursts was not too bad. I also like the subtle bitterness aftertaste the Matcha Bursts have. Matcha fans would definitely love this!

Order this if you are those who love exotic or interesting ice cream flavours but the Matcha Bursts are really delicious!

I am also very impressed with Brother Bird's ambience, particularly the metallic and rustic vibes that it gives off. The entire cafe was designed by Bird's father. A good place to enjoy some coffee and dessert and also a romantic place for dating.

Signature Rice Donuts // $14
I fell in love with Brother Bird after trying their Signature Rice Donuts when they were only opened for three months. My favourite dessert to fight against the hot weather! Thank you Brother Bird and KC for the invitation as well as Bird for the great hospitality! Brother Bird is also looking at relocating their operation and I looked forward to the new place!
